I absolutely love the effects CBD has on me. However, I don’t necessarily love the flavor of it. That’s why I’ve decided to take this powerhouse of a “special ingredient” to the kitchen and see what tasty treats I can come up with! I wanted to do a Hot Cocoa because it reminds me of growing up with frigid New England winters. We would sled outside all day, make snowmen, and pelt the neighborhood kids with snowballs. After our faces were red, and toes were frozen, we would come home to my Mama standing over the stove, carefully stirring a saucepan of delectable hot cocoa. From scratch. Which really, is not as labor-intensive as one might think! Peppermint adds an extra punch of flavor, and is reminiscent of holidays with the family, even after the tree is long gone.
Ingredients:
For Hot Chocolate
1 ½ cups heavy cream
1 ½ cups milk
¼ cup sugar
3 drops of peppermint extract
Pinch of salt
4oz bittersweet bakers chocolate, broken into pieces
6 Droppers of MedPac 300mg Chocolate Mint Flavor
For Garnish
½ cup whipping cream
1tbsp sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
60mg CBD Isolate
Chocolate Shavings
Directions: Before producing the hot chocolate, prepare the garnish. In a cold, metal bowl (you can place the bowl into the freezer for 10-15 minutes to get it cold), add the whipping cream, vanilla extract, sugar, and CBD Isolate. Whip with a hand mixture or cold metal whisk, just until it reaches stiff peaks. Set aside in fridge.
In a medium saucepan, over low-medium heat, combine milk, cream, sugar, and salt. Stir well. Once the mixture begins to steam, add the broken chocolate pieces, and stir constantly until melted. Stir in peppermint oil, and MedPac 300mg Chocolate Mint. Combine well. Divide the hot chocolate into 4 mugs. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish. Be sure to eat it all up to get as much of the CBD as possible. Plus, it’s delicious, so you’re going to want to eat it all! Stay warm and stress-free this winter!
